LM79

The LM-79-08 Photometric Measurements of Solid State Lighting Products, also referred to as LM79, was established by Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA), used to describe procedures and regulations in measurements of Solid State Luminaries (SSL). LM79 applies to LED-based products incorporating control electronics and heat sinks, yet it does not cover those requiring external operating circuits or heat sinks (bare LED chip, packages, and modules). LM79 requires SSL products to be tested by absolute photometry evaluation. LM79 test report with photometric measurement values is considered justified to gain customers’ loyalty.

LM-79 test items generally include the following:
● Total Luminous Flux (Fixture Lumens) ● Luminous Efficacy
● Luminous Intensity & Distribution (Candelas)     ● Chromaticity
● Correlated Color Temperature           ● Color Rendering Index (CRI)
● Input Voltage ● Input Current
● Input Power                    ● Voltage Frequency
● Power Factor
