Lextar Electronics to Deliver Integrated Lighting Solutions by Revealing its LSVP Strategy
Lextar Electronics Chairman & President Dr. David Su revealed the company's Lighting Solution and Value Provider (LSVP) strategies earlier today (April 15) at the Taiwan FPD Conference as a statement of the company's ambition to establish and consolidate its presence in the LED lighting sector. |
According to Dr. Su, three predominant trends (QCC) shape the existing LED lighting market; Quality of Light, Cost and Control system. In terms of quality of light, the market needs a provider for the “lighting environment” to achieve the optimization of even brightness, color temperature, and color rendering of light. With regards to cost, the price to produce LED bulbs today remains 10 times more expensive compared to incandescent bulbs. However, the cost of LED chip is merely at 10% of the total costs. Therefore, in addition to improving the efficiency of LED chip, one must integrate optical, mechanical, electrical, and thermal technologies and develop integrated LED light fixtures to truly achieve cost reduction and adequately utilize LED’s strengths in lighting applications. As for intelligent control system, manufacturers must incorporate smart lighting sensor features and aim for integration with network/intelligent home technologies to achieve energy conservation and carbon reduction.
In an effort to stay in line with the QCC trends, Lextar has thus unveiled its LSVP strategies. With its technical and production capacities for epitaxial, chip, packaging and module development, Lextar will make aggressive deployment in the lighting market with integrated products and services, while actively keep strengthening its ODM/OEM collaboration with brands in Europe, the United States and Japan. Guided by its LSVP strategies, Lextar Electronics will not only be strengthening its existing product line-ups for lamps and tubes, but will also be actively developing LED lighting fixtures i.e. flat panel light, downlight…etc). In addition, the company will also be working with strategic partners to deliver outstanding products and services of higher added value to achieve Lextar's vision of Smart Lighting, Amazing Life.
